Part 6: All Done!
Finally the day came to remove the casts. So early on the morning of November 30th, 2000 we all made another trip up to see Dr. Kehl. The casts were cut off and Katie was happy. You could barely see the scars on the inside of each foot.
To help with the healing Katie had to get some orthopedic shoes and wear them for 1 month. After that first month she wore them just at night. She may have been a little slow out of the gate but she soon learned to crawl, climb stairs and do everything else she would have done with normal feet.
