Part of Katie's birthday present from me was to go "real camping" so Thursday morning we packed up an headed for the mountains. Some items of note: the tent is almost as old as Daddy, but it had a better floor than the newer ones we have so if Sasha needed to she could come in with us. Katie made "gravel angels" so we may need to visit some real snow soon! Both kids LOVE to cut wood. Rolling up jeans is not an effective protection from kids getting wet in the lake (in fact it is pretty much useless when they both plop down on their bottoms!) Hiking to the bathroom is such fun to a kid that you get to do it a lot. Reservations are a good idea when camping during spring break, the first park was full, and we got the last spot at this one. A 6 year old will take 80 pictures to get 1 that isn't blurry (bottom). Oh and most importantly the kids LOVE camping.
