This is the start of the trip. Walt and I left at about 4 in the morning. Starting in Mississippi (we didn't think of it before Alabama) we decided to take pictures of all the state "welcome to" signs. Then we sort of missed Louisiana's sign and had to take one at the first rest stop. We made it to Texas, and finally spent the night at Walt's niece's house in Dallas, TX.
