This weekend was dominated by the Crazy Socks. To celebrate Dr. Seuss' birthday (3/2/1904) Katie's class had crazy hat day (Friday) and Crazy Sock Day (Monday). So since we aren't normal on regular things, how could we have just normal crazy socks? Katie was given $10.00 cash to spend on her socks, and any supplies she could find around the house, and a pair of socks. Saturday we headed to the art/craft store. On the way there, we discussed how she would have to pay tax so she really only had about $9 to spend. Then we looked over the whole store. It was hard for her not to get stuff right away and of course Jimmy wanted everything too! But after we looked around, she started to pick out stuff she wanted. She would put them in the buggy and then add them to her list. She got to be quite good at the addition of 3 digit numbers! Finally we went to the checkout (after she had over $8.60 worth of stuff in the buggy!). She got to pay all by herself and even get the change and put it in her pig. She was quite proud of herself, and needless to say, so was her daddy.

So, then we got home and over Saturday and Sunday, she built her socks, Jimmy worked on his very first model airplane. He chose the colors to paint it, painted it, and even glued it together! As a true Man he even helped "improve" the design so now the propeller spins!

Katie wore her crazy socks to school and before she even got in the door, she was putting smiles on peoples faces with the craziness of the socks. I think the good Dr. would be proud.
