Jim and Jay decided that they needed a good ole fashioned drink beer and build a huge fire in the middle of nowhere camp out. So they packed up, grabbed Sasha and headed to the woods on a rainy July weekend. They headed out to Amicalola Falls state park first. The park was beautiful, but unless you have some monster camper, it was like camping in your driveway. We headed off to Vogel State park but on the way we saw DeSoto Falls National Forest. We stopped there and couldn't have been happier. Rain an relaxation ensued, Sasha woke up long enough to growl at the black bear that came to visit (he left quickly after hearing the big mean dog!) and over a few drinks the problems of the world got solved... I think I know where to take the kids for their first far away camping trip.

In an attempt to show the tranquility of the stream that was part of our campsite I offer this little clip.
